Gold powder for detail painting was diluted with volatile petroleum distillates and water. Placed on an angled piece of plate glass the liquids erode away at the powders and create layers of colors, patterns, and textures moving at differing speeds. This motion is frozen by the shutter and a sense of metamorphic rock is presented.
